Arsenal 94-96: Arsenal were issued with PL code "02" receiving a total of 18 sculpts, although the players officially released only amounted to eight. Those eight were; Tony Adams, Paul Merson, Ian Wright, David Seaman, Dennis Bergkamp, David Platt, Nigel Winterburn and Martin Keown. Unfortunately, although Chris Kiwomya, Lee Dixon, John Hartson and Steve Bould were scheduled as the second wave, they fell through the void when production was halted until all produced stock had reached it's base level. Chris Kiwomya came the closest being released in this kit as he was supposed to be part of the first release available albeit only available in a 4 player pack which was subsequently cancelled. Arsenal were also due a change of kit in 1996 and so the decision was made to produce but release these players in line with the new season.
Paul Davis, John Jensen, David Hillier, Steve Morrow, Glenn Helder and Ray Parlour were also sculpted with intention of being part of the '95 release. Arsenal Legend Paul Davis' career had came to an end after his injuries limited his playing time and he was eventually released on a free when Bruce Rioch took the helm (his Master Model didn't progress pass secondary stages). David Hillier, Steve Morrow, John Jenson and Ray Parlour (to be scheduled as wave 2 of 95) did not have production models produced until 1996. Glenn Helder and John Jenson who was also delayed a re-scheduled for a 1996 release departed the club early in the '96 season resulting in their releases being cancelled.
Custom Sculpts: Since Arsenals back-catalog already consists of 18 players, custom sculpts of Eddie McGoldrick, Paul Dichov, Alan Smith, Andy Linighan, Bruce Rioch and Stuart Houston will be made to take the total squad to 26 figurines.
Repaints: Steve Bould, Lee Dixon, Chris Kiwomya and John Hartson are available from the 96-98 line. However, Kevin Cambell and Stefan Schwarz also featured for Arsenal during this time and will be added to the squad from their Nottingham Forest and Fiorentina releases with Kevin Campbell's pose altered to avoid clashing with John Hartson
Kit Usage: Arsenal debuted their new kit at the beginning of the 94/95 campaign in which they defeated Man City 3-0 at Highbury. Kevin Campbell opened the scoring within two minutes before Steve McMahon put the second into his own net and Ian Wright finished city off in the second half. The last use of this kit was on the last day of the 95/96 season against Bolton who fate was already resigned to the Championship. All goals came in the second half with Bolton going ahead thanks to Andy Todd before David Platt and Dennis Bergkamp rescued all three points for Arsenal. It was actually an important win for Arsenal as both Everton and Blackburn would have finished higher than the gunners who would have then missed out on European competition.
A fairly mixed bag for Arsenal in this kit, finishing mid-table but then entering the UEFA cup qualifying stages by finishing 5th in the 95/96 season. Two swift exits from the FA Cup to lower league opposition is countered by decent runs in the League Cup progressing to the Quarter Finals in 94/95 and Semi Finals in 95/96.
Arsenals kit was supplied by Nike and JVC (Japanese electronics manufacturer) sponsored them. This is probably one of the most accurate kits Corinthian produced aside from the fact that the red they used can sometimes vear towards more of an orange tint (although paint batches can drastically vary from Bergkamp to Winterburn). The shorts would have been better represented if two fine vertical strips of red ran parallel to each other rather than just one thick vertical line. Also something to note, the v-neck of the collar was very tight fitting and one white line joined the two collar ends, whereas on the painted kits two white lines are shown between the collar ends. There was also red separting the white collar from the white on the sleeve arms. So Dennis Bergkamp is the only figure to accurately show this, all the other 6 outfield players the white of the sleeve arm is paited all the way up to the collar. That's how the masters were painted too (see the player cardes below) so I'm guessing the factory painters were only going on what was instructed. Aside from this, there really isn't much Corinthian got wrong. Yellow was the tampo print colour chosen for the badge, a metallic gold instead like that of the French national squad badge would have also been a nice touch but that's just nit-picking

Tony Adams was part of Corinthian's first 16 England player squad so transferring him over from England to Arsenal would have seemed an easy task but it wasn't so straight forward. Initially depicted in poses 08 and 14, his final chosen pose would end up being pose 01. However, Pose No: 01 (in it's original stage) would present problems for the production line and subsequently all Pose 01 figures were altered long before pre-production. As seen in the picture to the right, his original pose saw his right arm come across his body and had a closed fist. This position of the arm would have obstucted the tampo print machine from being able to print the three lions badge (or the JVC sponsor in this example). Since Adams was the first figure to use this pose, the arm was removed and altered so that the arm was away from the shirt, facing forward with the first in a more natural open position. Yet his arm actually differs from those who share his pose. Given this arm was a result of a chop and glue, his tooling master shows the arm was over-rotated resulting in his hand is facing palm down (as if dribbling a basketball). It was later corrected for others that shared his pose (including for Adams own second master model - i.e his paint master). So this is the first example of a head sculpt remaining unchanged but the body undergoing alterations.

Paul Merson's figure came with a hand painted gold tooth. Only one other figure from the '95 production had this - his team mate and next figure, Ian Wright. Merson actually changed squad numbers between seasons. His original Corinthian figure will display the 95/96 season shirt no 9, I will also be producing his figure for the 94/95 season, changing his shirt no to 10.

As mentioned in Paul Merson's bio, Ian Wright also came with a hand painted gold tooth. He also shares a commonality with Tony Adams too in that his original pose was Pose No: 08 . Ian Wright himself was part of the advertising and promotion and is only a handful of players you can find actually posing with their model. (David Seaman, Alan Shearer, David Beckham, John Barnes and Paul Gascoinge being the rest).
